a century. The Herald was established in October 1879, The Democrat
in January 1880, and the papers were combined in 1883.

guide format, specializes in classified and display advertising,

The last of a chain
of newspapers whose history dates back to 1891. The Gold Rush reports
the news for Cripple Creek and is the official newspaper for Teller
County.

A five-day-a-week daily newspaper based in Salida. The Mail covers
local issues in both Salida and Poncha Springs, and it covers Chaffee
County government and politics. Unlike other small dailies, The
Mail is strictly a local product. No national news is provided,
as the Mail is dedicated to covering issues of local concern without
the help of a wire service.
